· Outer fabric: ½ yd. light strips
¾ yd. dark strips
· Lining: ¾ yd.
· Flowers: ½ yd.
· HTC fusible fleece: 9-1/2” x 6-1/2”
· Lt. wt. fusible interfacing: 1 yd.
· 9” zipper
· ¾” magnetic snap
· 1-1/2 yd of 1-1/2” cotton belting
· (3) 7/8” buttons for flower centers
· (2) 5” x 9” pcs. of foam core board
· #100 Jeans needle
· Hand sewing needle
· Pencil or silver gelly roll pen
· Multi-circled template, such as Staedtler professional Combo Circle Template, available at office supply stores
· Small Clover iron and pressing mat (a small wooden cutting board works great!)
· Sewing machine in good working order and accessories….Please know how to operate your machine. We will not have time in class to learn about our machines and sew our projects.
· General sewing supplies: pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.
· Teflon pressing sheet
PRIOR TO FIRST CLASS, PLEASE……
From Dark Fabric, cut lengthwise (parallel to selvage edge):
· (2) 4” x 22” (handles)
· (2) 3” x 16” (top of bag)
· (6) 1-1/2” x 16” (body of bag)
· (1) 5-1/2” x 16” (bottom of bag…for fun, why not cut a coordinating fabric for the bottom of your bag!)
From Light Fabric, cut lengthwise (parallel to selvage edge):
· (6) 1-1/2” x 16”
From Lining Fabric, cut:
· (2) 15” x 11” (body lining)
· (2) 8-1/2” x 5” (slip pockets)
· (1) 11” x 13” (zippered pocket)
· (1) 11” x 12-1/2” (bottom sleeve)
From Lightweight Fusible Interfacing, cut:
· (2) 15” x 11” (body lining)
· (1) 8-1/2” x 5” (slip pocket)
· 13” x 11” (zippered pocket)
From Fusible Fleece, cut:
· 17” x 24”
From Flower Fabric, cut:
· (3) 1-1/2” x 15-1/2” bias strips (outer petals)
· (3) 1” x 10-1/2” bias strips (inner petals)
· (6) 2-1/4” squares (to cover buttons for flower centers)
Following manufacturer’s instructions, fuse the light wt. interfacing to the wrong sides of body lining, slip pocket, and zippered pocket.
