Let's CRUISE again! March 2018 - Primitive Gatherings

Please join us and Lisa Bongean from Primitive Gatherings on the Royal Caribbean - Oasis of the Seas on a fabulous 7 night cruise to the Western Caribbean!  We'll visit the private island of Royal Caribbeans Labadee - Haiti, then on to Falmouth -Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico !

We've reserved the entire conference center on the ship for Lisa's "wool-n-hand" class - exclusively designed for attendees (will be debuted several months before sail date....that gives her the opportunity to use her newest fabric line for you), make-it-take-its, open sewing (don't forget to bring your OWN sewing machine), surprises, shipboard entertainment, great ports for fun-filled excursions & shopping... and MORE!

We pre-booked the cruise in advance to be assured we have the entire conference center.  Great way to get booked (reserve your reservation) and SAVE your money for final payment(almost 2 years), shopping and fun port adventure excursions.  Final payment is not due until 90 days prior to sail date!

Lisa's cruise filled up in less than 3 weeks this past February.... so don't delay.... sign up today!

Let's Make Baskets!!

Hey....

It's Sunday morning and the weather is to be beautiful here in Jacksonville today!  I think I may even work on removal of some weeds in the front patio area and get a little vitamin D today!

PLUS... I wanted to let you all know... we are offering basket classes again... (or... I can make a basket for you)!

We've had several classes here at the house and it's been so much FUN!  I love having them here... we can eat lunch... relax if we need to... and we only have 6 students so that's very manageable and gives everyone the attention they need with their weaving.

We are currently making beautiful "rainbow"  market baskets..... with curls (if you prefer) and then  adding a walnut stain!  Wow... does the stain ever make them warm and vintage looking!  Keep watching our website & Facebook for class dates, times and location.  I'm working out dates for enrollment - so these larger baskets can be held at Cinnamon's Quilt Shop (giving you an entire table on your own) and will have them on the site soon!!!

The following baskets are from www.bevsbaskets.com and
they are simply AWESOME!!

This finish is called "weathered".  It's one of my absolute favorite finishes to a basket using a combination of stain and paint!

This basket is the longest I've ever seen!  It measures 51" long (I'm thinking ours will be MUCH shorter)!  Can you imagine?  It's painted the most awesome blue I've ever seen and then wiped with a cloth so it gives the appearance to be old and worn!

This basket is long, flat and wide!  Then it's finished with a beautiful red paint.  Once dry - you can also add an antiqued finish over the red paint!

I've just ordered this pattern but with great handle tape that is dark navy
with cream stripes and navy accent reed!
These are great for toting around while shopping or carrying items back and forth to classes!

Large storage basket with bushel side handles.  This one is wonderful with the colored reed around the center and top!  Once you have it all woven,
we'll stain it with a walnut shell wash!

Okay... .I'm now off to kill those weeds... and then throw some laundry in the washer.... find something to fix for dinner tonight... and then to my sewing studio I go!   I'm designing something NEW today.... (with little...tiny... hexies...)!

Sew some stitches today!!!

p.s.  We are working on 2 FABULOUS **NEW**  retreats .... We can't wait to tell you about them when MORE details are ready!!  (so exciting....gives us chill bumps....)

EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT - APRIL CAMP BLANDING

I am so sorry to send this announcement to all of you attending the April Camp Blanding Retreat... I have just been notified by the Post Commanders Office that our April 21 - 26, 2016 retreat cannot take place.  The entire post is now and will be full of soldiers on work-ups for deployment - which has recently just happened.

They have been trying to find a location for us.. knowing that we have approximately 150 attending - however... there is simply no building - classroom - or facility that we can use... they've even looked at putting us in 2 different locations... they are just not available... all are being used for soldiers.  Including all of the lodging.

As we all know - this post is used for our Army National Guard and when they need any of the facility - they have first priority.

We have looked at future dates... and it appears as though our July 28 - Aug 2 date is ok PLUS our September date 23 - 27 for an additional session.  The Armory Building will be finished at this time and there are NO assigned army units to the post during these dates.
We will keep the retreats with the 3 or 5 day options... however, due to the expenses of the remodeled facility we have to have at least 65 to stay for the 5 days  in order to cover the additional daily fees.

WE WILL HAVE A SALE ROOM BOTH TIMES.
For those of you signed up for the April Sale room - you will keep your same numbers unless you decide to NOT be in the sale room.

I'll send more information within the next few days.

I soooooo apologize... Your funds will be automatically transferred to July unless you ask for them to be moved to September.

Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our troops.
